Editorial Policy

Smartonic covers the decisions people put off: career change, burnout, purpose, the money traps that keep people in jobs they have outgrown. Everything we publish is meant to be researched, specific, and usable. This page explains the standards behind that.

Sourcing standards

Claims that depend on research are linked to primary sources: peer-reviewed journals, government and institutional data, or the original publication of an idea. We prefer PubMed, WHO, federal statistics, and university research over secondhand summaries. Every external link in an article is opened and verified before publication — the page must exist, load, and actually contain what the citation says it contains. Links that die after publication are replaced or removed when found.

Fact-checking

Articles pass a multi-stage review before publication that checks factual claims against their sources, verifies that named people, dates, and numbers are real and accurately attributed, and rejects any quotation or anecdote that cannot be traced to a verifiable origin. We do not fabricate quotes, studies, or experts.

How we write

Smartonic uses AI-assisted research and drafting as part of its editorial process. Every article passes the fact-checking and source-verification stages described above and human editorial review before it is published. The standard we hold is simple: the reader should get accurate information and a genuinely useful answer, regardless of which tools helped produce the draft.

What we do not cover

We write about burnout as the World Health Organization classifies it: an occupational phenomenon, not a medical condition. We do not publish diagnostic content about depression, anxiety, or any clinical condition, and we do not offer medical advice. When a topic crosses from workplace experience into clinical territory, the honest answer is a clinician, and our articles say so.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix the article and update its modified date. Readers who spot an error can reach us through the contact page — corrections are reviewed and applied, not argued with.

Independence

Smartonic does not run sponsored content, affiliate placements, or paid product recommendations. No company pays for coverage or placement in our articles. If that ever changes, the affected content will be clearly labeled.
